As someone with 3 children - all under 9 - our team member Julie Sack knows how hard the past few months have been. That’s why she is coming to you today with 5 fun, socially-distanced, activities you and your families can do this weekend and every weekend through the end of October!

  1. Smith-Gilbert Gardens Kid-Friendly Scavenger Hunt

Voted one of the top five places to take children in the Atlanta metro area, the 17-acre property is rich with botanical, artistic and historic treasures. Scavenger hunts are now open, but please make sure to reserve your time slot to ensure you can participate. You can find a link in the description.

  2. Boo at the Zoo

Join the animals at the Atlanta Zoo for the return of Atlanta’s favorite fun family Halloween festival! Sample treats throughout the Zoo with one-way trick-or-treating and enjoy the sights and adventures of the whimsical Zoo Boo Town on five magical days with more than 1,000 animals from around the world. Don’t forget your costume!

  3. Still Family Farms Fall Weekends

In the fall, Still Family Farm opens to the public for six weekends and features harvest-time attractions like hayrides, a five-acre zinnia maze, pumpkin patch, and tons of family activities. Learn about the farm, the family, and enjoy a beautiful fall weekend at the farm!

  4. Scarecrows in the Square

Stroll through Glover Park during the month of October to view the amazing scarecrows our local organizations display in this annual contest. Plus stroll through the Marietta Farmers Market to see locally made crafts and goods.

  5. Spend the day hiking

Cobb County is surrounded by quite a few great hiking trails and outdoor activities such as Kennesaw Mountain State Park, Picketts Mill, Sope Creek, & Sweet Water Creek State Park. Get out of the house and enjoy the fresh fall air at one of the many historical parks in Cobb County!

We hope you have a fun, and safe weekend, and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
