Check out Oakhurst Porchfest, a Grassroots community music festival where front porches become stages, yards become venues, and radical generosity and good will rule the day. The event features 445 performers on 185 porches! This Saturday in Decatur’s Oakhurst neighborhood.

Hit Oktoberfest Atlanta featuring beer (first one included), German food, live music, and games at Historic Fourth Ward Park. Children are free, but select a “designated driver” ticket for ages 16 to 20. Friday and Saturday.

See 300 vendors of food and handmade items, plus craft demonstrations, an antique car show (Oct. 12), a 5K race (Oct. 12), and a parade (10 a.m. Oct 19) at Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay. No pets.

Fun for the whole family… The Pumpkin Festival kicks off this weekend and includes family shows, games, storytelling, kids’ activities, a pie-eating contest, and “thousands of carved jack-o-lanterns” at Stone Mountain Park. Open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Don’t miss the famed Chalktoberfest in Marietta Square this weekend. Enjoy your afternoon sampling craft beers, live music from local artists, watching professional Chalk Artists chalk the streets and eating great food. Attendance is free and all proceeds go to the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art.
