Dan Petersen

Translating his extensive background in business development to the real estate industry, Dan Petersen oversees sales and marketing, expanding his team’s services

and reach. Petersen is CMO, CFO and a Realtor for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices group Petersen Partners, which he launched 16 years ago with his wife, Jill. Together, they’ve established a family business with a heavy focus on mentorship and education, both for their agents and clients, who range from buyers and sellers to builders and investors.

“We have become a sales and marketing company with our own marketing and sales team,” explains Petersen, noting that having an in-house team gives the company greater control over branding and lead generation. “Agents must be top of mind at all times through multiple mediums with their clients, or someone else will gladly take them.”

Developing a new mentoring program for top leaders, Petersen invests in agents’ careers, providing them with the opportunity to learn management and leadership skills and preparing them for growth. He and his team have a personal business coach through the Tom Ferry coaching network, which allows them to mastermind and network with some of the best agents and teams across the nation.

The program also caters to new agents by giving them hands-on training. “Our team members have the opportunity to work for the multitude of brokerages in the

Atlanta market, and we feel privileged that they choose to be a part of ours,” he says.

In 2018, Petersen Partners generated over $60 million in sales and maintained their standing among the top half of the top 1 percent of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices agents worldwide. They remain the No. 1 team for Berkshire

Hathaway HomeServices in Georgia. Petersen also serves on the Atlanta Realtors Association’s Grievance Board.

Petersen is the proud father of two sons and is excited to watch their ongoing achievements in school and sports.

Jill Petersen

In testimonials summing up experiences with Jill Petersen, her husband/business partner Dan and their team at Petersen Partners/Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS), clients most frequently use the words knowledgeable, patient, honest, understanding, helpful, readily available, good listeners, accommodating and proactive communicators.

“I work primarily with repeat and referral clients,” Petersen says, noting the majority of those transactions are with clients seeking to buy or sell luxury properties or relocating to Atlanta. “It is particularly rewarding to receive repeat business or referrals from past clients. It comes from a strong level of trust.”

The team’s sales so far this year have exceeded $55 million. “With our refined training and support systems, a new and improved website and a solid business plan in place, we are poised for 2019 growth in terms of team size and business volume,” she says.

A member of the Atlanta Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, Petersen’s success has been duly noted by BHHS. She earned a top 100 spot nationally the last two years; top ½ of 1 percent of BHHS agents worldwide 2014-2017; ranked No. 1 BHHS Team for 2014-2017 in Georgia; and earned a place in the BHHS 2015-2017 Chairman’s Circle Diamond.

“I think my biggest accomplishments this year would be an unwavering dedication to personal business coaching and the launch of our new and improved website,” she says. “Both endeavors have allowed us to better mentor our team, fine-tune our lead generation systems, and greatly improve our current and prospective clients’ experiences.”

Instrumental to Petersen’s success are her negotiation skills, which she says are “crucial to ensuring our clients’ best interests are represented,” followed closely by listening skills, which are “critical for tailoring searches to clients’ needs and desires.”

As a family, Jill and Dan enjoy running. Jill, in particular, likes more extreme or adrenaline-inducing sports and adventures, like axe tossing and ziplining. “I would like my next adventure to be a hang-gliding expedition,” she says. Petersen also makes time for a role that is very dear to her, serving as grade representative/volunteer for her eldest son’s senior class.
